Here to help you in planning your stay with us are some answers to the most frequently asked questions. We think we have covered most questions but if you do not see what you need here, just contact us.
DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT WHEN I MAKE MY BOOKING?
We will ask you for a credit/debit card number to be held against your reservation. Your bill will be settled on departure unless pre-paid to an Online Travel Agent such as Booking.com, Agoda or Expedia (best rates directly with the Hotel).
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
Cancellations made within seven (7) days of arrival would be charged for the B&B part of the reservation. Should such a situation arise, we are more than happy to provide written documentation as required by your travel insurance company so that you can make a claim for your losses. Cancellations made outwith this period are not charged.
WHAT TIME CAN I CHECK IN TO MY ROOM?
Our normal check in time is from 2.00 pm onwards. Please advise us if you will be arriving later than 9.00pm. Check out is at 10.30am on the day of your departure.
WHAT TIME IS BREAKFAST SERVED?
Our full breakfast menu is available between 8.30am and 9.30am. An earlier breakfast can be arranged on request.
CAN YOU CATER FOR MY SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
Yes. We do ask that you make us aware of your requirements when you make your booking so that we are fully prepared for your arrival. Vegetarian options are available at breakfast.
WILL YOU BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A PACKED LUNCH?
Absolutely! We ask that you give us notice by 8.00pm the previous evening.
CAN I SMOKE AT FAIRWINDS HOTEL?
We are a non-smoking hotel and ask that guests refrain from smoking in throughout the hotel.
DO YOU HAVE ACCOMMODATION FOR FAMILIES?
Children are welcome by prior arrangement. Cairngorm, Osprey or Strathspey have space for a Z bed or a cot to accommodate 1 child. Children aged 12-15 arecharged extra at 50% of room rate, from 3-12 at 25% of room rate and 0-2 are free of charge.
CAN I BRING MY DOG WITH ME?
Yes, but only in our ground floor room Strathspey (Superking 1), which is available for guests wishing to bring up to two dogs along with them. We ask that you do not leave your furry friend unattended in the room at any time and that you bring along the necessary bedding for your pet. Dogs are charged at £6 per night on top of the room rate. Additionally, dogs are welcome in some of our self catering chalets.
I AM COMING ON A WALKING HOLIDAY. CAN YOU PROVIDE ME WITH DRYING FACILITIES FOR MY GEAR?
We have a drying room at the hotel which is designed for the drying of all outdoor gear and boots.
WHAT ABOUT LAUNDRY?
We offer a same day laundry service for washing and drying your laundry. This is charged per machine load. Whilst we do not provide irons or ironing boards in the rooms, we do have these available to loan.
WILL I BE ABLE TO ACCESS MY E-MAILS AND USE THE INTERNET?
We have WiFi available throughout the hotel. Guest rooms will receive the signal as will the lounge area. This is complimentary for our hotel guests.
WILL I BE ABLE TO PARK MY CAR?
Yes. We have free, off-road, lit car parking for up to 6 cars. We can also offer covered parking for motor bikes and cycles.
HOW CAN I PAY?
We accept £Sterling. We accept the following credit/debit cards:Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, Delta, Maestro, Solo, Electron, JCB. All UK cheques require to be accompanied by a valid bank card.
WHAT DOES THE ROOM RATE INCLUDE?
Our rates include VAT at the present rate of 20%. We do not include a service charge in our prices. Breakfast is included in the room rate.
DO YOU CATER FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS ?
Absolutely! If you're celebrating one during your stay....we can make it memorable....
Champagne, chocolates, flowers, roses...whatever you need, just let us know and we'll organise it all for you!
IS THERE CAR HIRE AVAILABLE NEARBY ?
Yes. We can advise on car hire from Inverness City, Inverness Airport and Aviemore - contact us.
ARE THERE MEDICAL AND DENTAL SERVICES NEARBY?
Yes. 24 hour local doctor/medical service available nearby. Dentist within 6 miles.

HAVE YOU GOT ANY IDEAS FOR TRIPS AND TOURS ?
We can help you plan distillery visits, rounds of golf, steam railway trips, castle visits, themed day tours, cruises on Loch Ness, nature and heritage trails, guided walks and a host of outdoor activities on the local estate. We will also advise on local walking and cycling routes - just ask us!!!
HOW DO I FIND YOU ?
From both the south and north take the main A9 road, following the signs for Carrbridge. Coming south from Inverness take the junction for the A938 (signposted for Carrbridge) - Coming north take the A95 and follow for a few miles then take the B9153 to Carrbridge. The entrance to Fairwinds Hotel is opposite the entrance to the main car park in the centre of the village. Our drive goes up beside the village hall:watch out for the silver and black sign!

A non refundable deposit of the cost of the 1st night may be taken by the hotel on booking.
Fairwinds is non smoking.
Children are welcome by prior arrangement.
We cannnot put extra beds in our Standard Double & Cosy Double rooms. Extra bed chargeable at 50% room rate (13yrs -) 25% room rate (2-12yrs) 0% (up to 2yrs)
Free off road parking.
We only accept pets in one room (Strathspey) of the hotel at our discretion only at a charge of £6.00 per night per dog.
Complimentary WiFi through out the hotel. Breakfast is included in room price.
For direct bookings only, cancellation is free of charge if notice is given at least 7 days prior to first reservation date, thereafter 100% of the reservation is charged. For third party bookings such as booking.com or Expedia the first night is non-refundable from time of booking. We will provide an invoice for insurance claims.
